Produce Exchange 

There is a table set up on the West Entrance to the library (outdoor patio) for anyone who has extra produce from their garden, or those who are looking for produce for one of your favorite recipes.  This table is being managed by the Sioux Center Gardener’s Exchange.

OBOSC Author Event 

One Book One Sioux County is excited to have author Tosca Lee at this year’s event on Thursday, November 4.  This will be held at the Dordt Ag Stewardship Center.  Registration is requested.

Paper Clip Project 

The Paper Clip Project began 20 years ago when an 8th grade teacher from Whitwell, Tennessee wanted to teach her students about tolerance. They collected over six million paper clips to represent the six million Jews that perished during World War II. Lori Vicker will share information about how the students were able to collect these paper clips and create a memorial in their town.

Mystery of the Tulips 

John Buntsma will present on the mystery of tulips and tied into this, a perennial information exchange.  John will share information on how to plant and care for tulips and other perennials. John is an Iowa State Extension Master Gardener intern.

Holiday Boutique 

Vendors are needed for the Holiday Boutique on November 20, 2021.  This is a great opportunity for the public to come shop for everyone on their Christmas list!  The Holiday Boutique will be held from 9am-2pm.  Proceeds from this event will go towards upcoming building projects at the library.

100 Books Before College

The 100 Books Before College challenge is for 5th-12th grade students.  The goal is to encourage students to continue to read in order to be as prepared for higher education as they can.  This challenge will also take place solely on Beanstack.
