Loan periods and fines:
The full list of circulation periods and fine structures is available in the circulation policy. High demand items may have a shorter checkout period and renewals are only available if no one has reserved the item. Patrons may apply up to a $5 credit on their account. Credits will not be refunded and will automatically be applied to any fines that accrue on the account.

Request a password to renew & reserve:
To set up online access for reviewing, renewing or reserving books from home either set up your password online or email, call, or stop by and ask a staff member
To (re)set your password online:

- Visit the library’s website and click on the Books, Movies, & More–Catalog, or go directly to your account here.
- Click on the icon of a person in the upper right corner.
- Click on Need help? at the bottom.
- Click on Forgot your Password?
- Enter your username or 8 digit library card number.
- An email will be sent to the email address listed on your account with a link to reset your password.
Access your library account:
- Visit the library’s website and click on the Books, Movies, & More–Catalog, or go directly to your account here.
- Click on the icon of a person in the upper right corner.
- Enter your 8-digit barcode number. This will be the 8 numbers in front of the very last digit of the barcode. Note: If you would prefer to choose a username instead using the 8 digit barcode, please let us know and we will set that up for you.
- Enter your Password (If you forgot your password, you can reset your password online using your 8 digit library card number or email us for assistance)
- Click the Sign In button.
To renew items on the website:
- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Click on the Dashboard tab.
- Click the Renew box under each item you want to renew or click the Renew All button at the top of each section.
- Note: Renewing may not work if an item is on reserve for another patron, has been renewed the maximum number of time, or if your account exceeds the number of overdue items, is over the maximum fine, or is expired. Please call the library at 712-722-2138 if you have difficulties.
Renew Your Items on the Librista App
- Install the “Librista” app.
- Freely available to all library patrons.
- Select “Sioux Center Public Library”
- Tap the menu and Account to sign in to your account.
- Enter your 8 digit library card number or username and your Password (please call or email us if you don’t have a password)
- On the Dashboard screen, click the Renew button next to the items you want to renew or click Renew All
To renew items in the Cloud Library App
- Install the “Cloud Library” app.
- NOTE: Access to Cloud Library is limited to Sioux Center and rural Sioux County patrons
- Select “United States” “Iowa” and “Sioux Center Public Library.”
- Enter your 8 digit library card number and your Password (If you forgot your password, you can reset your password online using your 8 digit library card number or email us for assistance)
- Tap “My Books”
- Tap the purple “Renew” button next to the item(s) you wish to renew.
To reserve items:
- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Search for the item you wish to reserve.
- Click on the Reserve link below the title of the item you want to reserve.
To set up email reminders before items are due:

- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Click on the Account tab.
- On the Contact Information tab, ensure your email address is correctly entered.
- On the Notification Settings tab, find the Email Settings box.
- Check the slider box to Notify before items are due…
- Enter the number of days before items are due that you would like the email.
- Click Save.
To set up text reminders before items are due:

- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Click on the Account tab.
- On the Contact Information tab, ensure your moblie phone number and carrier are correctly entered.
- On the Notification Settings tab, find the Text When box.
- Click the checkboxes next to the types of text notifications you would like to receive.
- Click Save.
To review an item:
- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Search for the item you wish to reserve.
- Click on Review tab for that item.
- Click on the Review Item button.
- Write a review and choose a rating on a 5-star scale.
- Click “Submit”
- This message will appear “Your review was successfully submitted.” Please note that it won’t appear on the website until it has been approved.
To set up dates you are unavailable to pick up reserves:
Whether you will be on vacation, on military deployment, or you head south for the winter, you can add unavailability dates for reserved items. This way we’ll save your position in the reserve queue until your return date.
- Access your library account following the instructions above.
- Click on the Account tab.
- In the Contact Information subsection, select your Unavailability Start Date and your Unavailability End Date.
- Click Save.
