Loan periods and fines:

The full list of circulation periods and fine structures is available in the circulation policy. High demand items may have a shorter checkout period and renewals are only available if no one has reserved the item. Patrons may apply up to a $5 credit on their account.  Credits will not be refunded and will automatically be applied to any fines that accrue on the account.

Request a password/PIN to renew & reserve:

To set up online access for reviewing, renewing or reserving books from home:

Access your library account:

  1. Visit the library’s website and click on the Books, Movies, & More–Catalog, or go directly to your account here.
  2. Click on the Log On button in the upper right corner.log on
  3. Enter your 8-digit barcode number. This will be the 8 numbers in front of the very last digit of the barcode. Note: If you would prefer to choose a username instead using the 8 digit barcode, please let us know and we will set that up for you.
  4. Enter your PIN (If you forgot your PIN, you can reset your password/PIN online using your 8 digit library card number or email us for assistance)
  5. Click the Log On button.account log on

To renew items on the website:

  1. Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Click on the Items Out tab.renew items
  3. Mark the box next to the items you wish to renew or click the select all button.
  4. Click the Renew Selected Items button.
  5. Note: Renewing may not work if an item is on reserve for another patron, has been renewed the maximum number of time, or if your account exceeds the number of overdue items, is over the maximum fine, or is expired. Please call the library at 712-722-2138 if you have difficulties.

Renew Your Items on the Librista App

  1. Install the “Librista” app.
    • Freely available to all library patrons.
  2. Select  “Sioux Center Public Library
  3. Tap the menu and log on to your account.
  4. Enter your 8 digit library card number or username and your PIN/Password (please call or email us if you don’t have a PIN)

  6. Tap “Renew” next to the item you wish to renew

To renew items in the Cloud Library App

  1. Install the “Cloud Library” app.
    • NOTE: Access to Cloud Library is limited to Sioux Center and rural Sioux County patrons and those who pay for full access to eResources
  2. Select “United States” “Iowa” and “Sioux Center Public Library.”
  3. Enter your 8 digit library card number and yourPIN/Password(If you forgot your PIN, you can reset your password/PIN online using your 8 digit library card number or email us for assistance)

  4. Tap “My Books”
  5. Tap the purple “Renew” button next to the item(s) you wish to renew.

To reserve items:

  1. Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Search for the item you wish to reserve.
  3. Click on the title of the item in order to open the full details.reserve items
  4. Click on the Reserve button on the right side of the screen.

To set up email reminders before items are due:

  1. Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Click on the Account tab.set up email reminders before items are due
  3. Enter your email address and verify it.
  4. Check the box to Remind me by email…
  5. Enter the number of days before items are due that you would like the email.
  6. Click save. 

To set up text reminders before items are due:

  1. Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Click on the Account tab.set up text reminders before items are due
  3. Enter the number of days before items are due that you would like the email in the box on the top section.
  4. Enter your mobile phone number in the box on the top section.
  5. Select your Mobile Phone Carrier from the drop down menu.This will automatically fill in your text message address. If your carrier is not listed in the menu, select I know my Text Message Address from the menu and manually type your address in the Text Message Address box below.
  6. Select the boxes in from of “Text me when my items are due back” and “text me when a reserve is ready for pickup.”
  7. Click save.

To review an item:

  1.  Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Search for the item you wish to reserve.
  3. Click on the title of the item in order to open the full details.
  4. Click on the “Write a Review” icon.review an item
  5. Select a star rating (1-5)review item star rating
  6. Write a review.
  7. Click “Save
  8. This message will appear “Your review was successfully submitted.” Please note that it won’t appear on the website until it has been approved.

To set up dates you are unavailable to pick up reserves:

Whether you will be on vacation, on military deployment, or you head south for the winter,  you can add unavailability dates for reserved items. This way we’ll save your position in the reserve queue until your return date.

  1. Access your library account following the instructions above.
  2. Click on the Account tab.
  3. Select your Unavailability Start Date and your Unavailability End Date.
  4. Click Save.
