STEM Room
Families are invited to play in our STEM Room. The STEM Room features hands-on activities for children to learn, play, grow, and build community. The Sioux Center Public Library recognizes that reading is an important life skill, learning to read starts at birth, and parents play instrumental roles as children’s first and best teachers. Librarians encourage parents to engage with their children using five practices crucial to literacy development: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Hours:
The STEM room is open during regular library hours, but closes 15 minutes before the library closes.
Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM – 8:45 PM
Friday-Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:45 PM
Sunday: Closed
Rules:
- Parents (or caregiver age 14+) must remain in the room with their children AT ALL TIMES.
- Parents/children are expected to clean up after themselves.
- Please keep the volume down – no yelling or shouting.
- Please don’t place toys or play food in the tractor.
- Please don’t climb on top of the tractor or other items in the STEM room.
- Be respectful of others and the materials in the room.
Sala STEM (la granja)
La Biblioteca Pública de Sioux Center reconoce que la lectura es una habilidad importante para la vida, que aprender a leer comienza desde el nacimiento y que los padres desempeñan un papel fundamental como los primeros y mejores maestros de los niños. Horario:
La sala STEM está abierta durante el horario habitual de la biblioteca, pero cierra 15 minutos antes del cierre de la biblioteca.
lunes-jueves: 9:00 AM – 8:45 PM
viernes-sábado: 9:00 AM – 4:45 PM
domingo: cerrado
Reglas:
- Un padre (o un cuidador de 14+ años) debe permanecer en la sala con sus hijos EN TODO MOMENTO.
- Los padres/niños deben recoger los juguetes.
- Por favor, hablen en voz baja – no griten.
- Por favor, no coloquen juguetes en el tractor.
- Por favor, no se suban en la parte superior del tractor, ni en los objetos que están en la sala.
- Sean respetosos de otras personas y los objetos dentro de la sala.
