Readers in Kindergarten-4th grade are invited to read or listen to 500 Books before 5th Grade and earn a new set of badges! Readers who complete the challenge will earn a completion prize. We have a list of recommended reads here. However, you may read books of your choice as well. Any books count – books, graphic novels, audiobooks, Braille books, or ebooks!
To start the challenge, simply register for the 500 Books Before 5th Grade challenge on Beanstack, and begin logging books! Books that are read more than once can be counted. When you reach prize increments (50, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 books), you can stop by the library to pick up your prize. When you stop by, let the front desk staff know so we can verify which increment you’ve reached. You’ll then receive your prize! When you complete the challenge, we will contact you when we hold our next completion celebration.
